Why it lasts
Why hot vulcanized, also called heat vulcanized
Cold-bonded seams peel and split. We cure the overlap under heat and pressure so the joint is as strong as the sheet around it. Half the trade says hot vulcanized and half says heat vulcanized. It is the same process and it is the only way we build a seam.
Cold bonded
Two layers held together by adhesive. Heat, vibration and a clamp band work the glue line loose until the seam walks apart. It is the number one failure point on cheap boots.
Hot vulcanized
We lay uncured rubber into the overlap and cure the whole joint under heat and pressure. The seam becomes one continuous piece of rubber. There is nothing left to peel.

Measure it once
Three numbers and we can quote it
Pull the old boot, or measure the pipe it slips over. That is the whole job.
Inside diameter
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe or chute the boot slips over. Watch the trap: 12 inch pipe actually measures 12.75 inches across. Nominal size is not the number we need.
Wall thickness
Measure across the cut edge of the old rubber. 1/4 inch handles most duty. Go 3/8 or 1/2 inch where aggregate is abrasive or the sleeve takes a beating.
Length
Length is the gap the boot spans plus the overlap on each end. Give yourself 3 to 4 inches of overlap per end so the clamp band has rubber to bite.
Example applications
Where these parts go
Three common builds, what they do, and what we need to quote one.

29 inch truck discharge boot for a ready-mix batch plant
The sleeve that drops mix into the truck. The part that tears first on most plants.

8 5/8 inch flex connectors on grain elevator spouting
Fits over 8 inch spouting. Almost nobody stocks the size.

Tapered silo band between a cone and a bin activator
Two different diameters and rarely a catalog size, which is why catalogs skip it.

Why plants reorder
Every seam is hot vulcanized
We cure the overlap under heat and pressure so the joint becomes one continuous piece of rubber. There is no glue line in it to peel apart at a clamp.
We cut to your numbers
Any inside diameter, any wall from 1/8 to 1/2 inch, any length. Odd sizes are the normal case in this shop, not the exception we turn down.
Quotes come back in 24 hours
Send the ID, wall and length and a real person answers within one business day, usually the same day. An old part number works too.
No minimum order
One boot is a real order. So is a blanket release with scheduled pickups. Tell us your annual usage and we will quote it both ways.
Questions
Frequently asked
What sizes can you make?
Any inside diameter from 1 inch up, any wall from 1/8 to 1/2 inch, any length up to 48 inches through the online builder. Need something longer than 48 inches? Ask us. We quote oversize boots every week.
What does hot vulcanized mean and why does it matter?
We join the seam with uncured rubber and cure it under heat and pressure, so the joint becomes one continuous piece as strong as the sheet around it. Cold-bonded (glued) seams are the number one failure point on cheap boots. Ours do not have one.
How fast will I get a quote?
Within 24 hours, and usually the same business day. Send the RFQ through the builder and it lands in our sales inbox immediately.
I only have the old part number. Can you match it?
Yes. Put the part number in the notes field and we will match the dimensions. We regularly build equivalents to MPParts, Vince Hagan, CEPI and other catalog boots.
Do you offer bulk pricing?
Yes. Multi-piece and blanket orders get bulk pricing, and we can hold stock for scheduled releases. Note your annual usage in the RFQ and we will quote both ways.
